CB450 stock rim size

sleazy

"everyone has a plan…"
ive searched the forums (here and at Honda Twins) and havnt found the exact information needed.

can someone please tell me stock RIM width (fr and rear) of an early 70s CB450?

both mine are too far gone/rusted to use and no markings. with a caliper- it looks as if the front is a 19", 40 hole, 1.5" wide. confirm?

the rear is 18", 40 hole... but width i dont know.

(rather than pulling tire and measuring- i just cut spokes and in a moment of 'not thinking ahead' tossed the whole damn thing in the rubbish.)

thanks in advance.

i guess i dont know how to measure rim width. from the inside land to the other side, i could swear it looked like 1.5 inches... maybe 1.6" (LOTS of rust)

but i found a listing that shows the stock honda rim width was 1.85"

what i'm trying to do is order some rims from Buchanan and their selection is mind bogglingly extensive. by substantiating what was stock- i can go from there.

any help?

thanks.

Get 2.15 front and 2.50 rear unless you are restoring it to original spec.

I went up a size on my CB360, and the handling improved (But stock size tires)...

FYI:

much, much obliged.
