What speedo is that? Is it the original one? What have you done for your blinker light and neutral and highbeam light? Where did you get it?

Bike looks AWESOME

Thanks, mate!

Yeah, the speedo is the original one. I just cut the support in a half and welded a bar with two holes on it. That way I can attach it to the triple tree with two screws.

The neutral light is also housed on the triple tree. I bought a cheap green light and put it in the hole that used to hold the rubber cushion for the original speedo.

The low/high lights' commands are on the left side of the clip ons. I used the controls from a modern little Yamaha bike but you can adapt pretty much anything so don't worry.

I bought all these parts in my town. Every motorcyle shop should have them.

I was thinking to give my intruder to the hands of a professional. There is this guy here in Curitiba who make this type of customization. He will make the job by the price of R$ 2000,00 and told me that will take the motorcycle for an entire month. But I was thinking to do the job for myself now. Not because of the price, but because of the time he asked.
I think that will be cool to do the customization too. The most parts looks simple and easy, but the seat is the only thing that I don't know how to do. I'd like to take a different kind of seat you piked up. I will take one like this (I don't know how to call it): https://www.google.com.br/search?q=banco+caf%C3%A9+racer&espv=2&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=tjUGVN2VIo3JggTiqIHgCg&ved=0CBwQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=667#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=Yg4wP91gRSLLcM%253A%3BfZ-JS2mHedLlgM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252F4.bp.blogspot.com%252F-YgyJrVn8Bac%252FT0zdnQngEJI%252FAAAAAAAADDs%252FKAU2WndPyJo%252Fs400%252Fselle_mono1.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fsinistros-forever.blogspot.com%252F2012_02_01_archive.html%3B400%3B266
Did you have a tip to give to me? There is some professional who will make only the seat to me?
Did you have some other thing to tell me? Any recommendation? Even if the recommendation is "do not do the job by yourself". haha

I will place a photo of the model that a drew:

Nice, Alexandre!

Yeah, try to do it yourself. It's nice to have your own touch on the bike, to know that YOU did it by yourself and all. Nothing pays that feeling.

The thing is: do you have the skills and the tools needed? That's one thing to keep in mind.

I did it all by myself 'cause: a) I had no one here to do it for me; b) I like mechanics and stuff like that. In the end, I wanted to build something unique, in my taste, had no one to do it around so I went for it.

One month looks ok to me. I'm not sure you'll be able to beat that deadline in a DIY-style build. 2k looks like a lot of money, but I don't know the quality of the job, so it's up to you.

About the seat... That will look very cool, for sure. I'll buy a piece from the US and install it on the bike, building a base and such. You can find lots of seats like that one here http://www.dimecitycycles.com/, for example.

You can also build the seat using fiberglass, there are lots of videos on Youtube showing how it's done.

Ctba has lots of cafe racers, maybe you could talk to someone to get more builders and such.

Thanks for the tips. Just helped me to take de courage to join in the adventure that will be this costumization.
I have decided that only the painting will be given to another person to do. I will try to do the seat for myself in fiberglass.

I like to ask about de handlebars. How much costed yours?
I've looked for one in mercado livre. I found this one:
http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-576342648-semi-guido-esportivo-universal-31mm-a-54mm-frete-gratis-_JM
The seller ins't good, I won't buy it. But the model is the same you used, ins't? There some other models with a leaning (inclinação) like this one:
http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-570745642-semi-guido-azul-dupla-reg-aluminio-honda-cbr1000rr-2004xx-_JM
I will take one wich fits in the intruder. But the model of yours is more like the first or more like the second?

How do I measure the size of the bracket? It's the circumference of the stick (bengala)?

Thanks.

Great!!

I got my handlebars from ebay, something like US$ 17,00. No way I'm buying them in Brazil, ridiculous expesive!! They are 33mm wide, the same measure of Intruder's bengala. Your way to measure it is correct, just use a paquímetro to give you a correct size.

Search for "clip on handlebar" on ebay, dealextreme, aliexpress and such websites. You'll find better prices.

I've started the job and a got one more question. There's lots of people telling me to not use the rear dampers extenders (alongadores de amortecedores traseiros) because its dangerous. What do you say about that?
Should I worry about the weight I put in the seat? There is a wear (desgaste) even without considering the weight I put in?

Alexandre, I neved had a problem with the extenders. They are a solid metal piece with no moving parts. I don't see a reason it should be problem.

Hey! I just saw the whole project! Do we have any updates! Cause I really would like to see the progressive end product after some real road use! Also, I found this! I already got some ideas for my Suzuki GN 250 Cafe Racer http://suzukign.com

reerguendo o topico!

boa tarde luiz.
