Some progress today after three hours!!!!! i finally got the stanchion out ! had to cut it flush to the yoke one end and left an inch the other then put that bit in a vice and kept pinching it untill it broke the cold weld , then with the flush end faceing up and the yoke resting on the open jaws of the vice used a socket to tap it out O.M.G!!!!!! but hay its 42 years old.
