Fork swap on a CB450

Have you done one on a CB450? What forks/triple trees did you use?

I'm hoping to bolt up a modern front end to a 70's CB450 and would love to find a 1990's or newer bike with proper sizing so I don't have to do much (any) fab work. Replacing bearings is fine ( http://www.allballsracing.com/index.php/forkconvertion ) but determining stem length is puzzling to me.

I love the look of ClassifiedMoto.com bikes that swap in modern forks. I just don't know what I don't know... ya know?

If you've done one, tell me what forks you used and I can search Ebay/Craigs for donor bikes. Knowing that the swap will work before I invest a couple of hundred dollars is important.

Thanks

Tim

Talk to this guy. He may be Canadian, but he knows where it's at........and may be able to help.

I've got a lead on an entire front end from a 1990 CBR1000F for $300. I'm picking it up tomorrow. Hopefully the stem length will work.

Ended up keeping it stock, sold the front end at mid Ohio for profit
