Suggestions for frame scratches?

So the bike I just picked up is really clean, but I'm trying to figure out how to touch up some rusty scratches on the paint.
I tied some appliance paint, but you can totally tell......
I was thinking of masking it off and hitting it with some semi-gloss engine paint..... I'm trying to match the gloss but I'm thinking high gloss might be too much.

Any suggestions?
