I just went to "Ground Zero" last week!

Saw the crossroads, went to the Delta Blues Museum and had lunch at the famous Ground Zero club on 1 Blues Alley Lane.

I love traditional blues. Muddy, Robert etc.

Great Stuff!

Listen to the North Mississippi Allstars some time and pay attention to the dude playing bass-he tears it up.Cephas and Wiggins,Davy Graham,John Lee Hooker and for a little gospel and blues-the Blind Boys of Alabama.

Couldnt find this one video i saw of bukka white perfoming that song live.. truely a sight to see. how he plays that percussion part on his guitar, and bounces backforth between picking and drumming.. these guys are incredible. And I love the fact they are all home brewed and self taught..

I got to see a speaking engagement Huber Sumlin held nearby my house, He is a really funny guy, His stories are incredible and music even better (Howlin' Wolf's guitarist, and played on some of his best stuff) These guys are pure character..

i could listen to this stuff for days! some of my fav!
pour me a nice whiskey, play some of these awsome tunes, and sit back, relax, and enjoy....(or work on our bikes)

Now your talkin'!!!
Check out Kenny Wayne Shepherd's "10 days out" he recorded performences of a few OLD blues players, some died before the cd's release. Good old school blues.

I love that delta sound! The first song I ever learned to play on guitar was a 12 bar blues. A few years back I picked up the harmonica (easier to bring on a bike) and have been playing since. Big Walter Horton and Robert Johnson inspired me so much!

You know i'd reply to this bud ;) Course i do. I might go crank up some Leadbelly, when i get back out to the garage.

Man rewatching these vids, bored at work.

I never liked 12 string guitars.. actually full on dislike them. too much. sound dumb..

...but hot dawg that Rev. Gary Davis does an incredible number on it. Just floored ..too incredible.

Too many damn strings to tune, I'd never get to play. Somebody really needs to write the "Too broke to Fix My Bike" blues, that way I'd have something to play in my garage... :'(

Bo Diddley came to my home town in Islamorada Florida and played an outside show some time back. I was front and center when his tamberine broke and one of the little bell things rolled right to me. Needless to say its very cool to me... he died about a month or so after that.

Found this thread and want to keep track. I always appreciate the Blues but a couple of these posted are teaching this dog some new ones...

If you get down to Birmingham for Barber vintage you need to check out Gip's Place. It's a byob blues venue in the back of this old mans house, lots of folks have played there like R.L. Burnside. Check the videos on you tube.
