VERY NICE!!!! Great work, that is a really good looking bike. I love the headlight fin. Is it just me or is the seat cowl, or the pinstripes on the seat cowl a tad askew?

I think the angle of the shot and the offset of the rear wheel make it look a little off, but it isn't.

Very nice, very clean. That hot little unit could use a fork brace though ;)

I haven't ever seen one other than the front fender. I like the look better with out it as long as it isn't a safty hazzard. I think the front end handles just fine without one. I was thinking about fabricating one from the stock fender mount, but I'm not a fan of how it looks. Is it likley the forks will fail without one?

Very NICE !
Got me motivated to get my butt back in the shop in and finish the insulation and lights so I can finish my 350 .

Post a pic of your CB on here.

I'll post a build thread as soon as I get outta shop construction mode.
Anyone know if I should use clip ons or clubmans on my ladder to sheetrock the ceiling? Lol going for r-90 in the attic too :)

looks nice, except i don't like the seat being raised, but that's just me

did you do the knee dents yourself? how hard was it?
where did you get your gators on the forks?!?

Ok, I'll be the devils advocate I guess. First off, the bike is gorgeous - I would be proud to throw a leg over it. The fork brace is needed to keep the wheel going the same direction as the forks. If you stand at the front of the bike and squeeze the wheel between your legs and grab the handle bars, keep the wheel straight and twist the forks. If you think about it, you are putting 100-150 pounds of force on the front end just by hand. Then think about the weight of the bike, yourself, and momentum trying to twist those forks in a turn. It may look pretty with no fork brace, but it will handle 10x better with one. And why no rear splash guard? Those V stacks will swallow all sorts of crud given the chance........

Like I said, the bike looks great. Just concerned with your safety and the engine.

BigRich- good points, reminded me that I need a "fender" on the rear of my 350 w/ velos.

Love the guage/ignition plate/bracket- good idea.

Does anyone know where I can find a decent brace? I could fabricate one out of the fender but I would prefer one that looked more GP I guess.

As far as the Stacks and junk getting in them, last year before I rebuilt the engine I had been running the stacks for a while and on a trip back from Baltimore I got stuck in a horrible down pore. I had no choice but to ride the hour home in the horrible rain storm. The entire time I was convinced the bike was going to shut off due to all the water going in to the carbs. It never did and luckily I made it home safe in once piece. I was still horrified that I ruined the engine so I started my rebuild. The engine was in great condition once I tore her open. No damage at all. After that, I wasn't worried about not having a rear fender. That and it looks AWESOME ;)

I'll definitely look in to the fork brace though. Now I'm a little worried about not having one.
