Thailand Stallions Centaur Cafe project

I've just stumbled onto this site and can't seem to get off it, so many great builds and progress shots.
I though I would start a thread of my bike because it's not such a common make

The project I'm working on is a Thai Brand motorbike called Stallions, the bike was made in a retro kind of and I feel it's a nice base for a cafe racer

It's not such an expensive bike here in Thailand (compared with new Honda's and Yamy's) but that comes with it's down sides... most things on the bike are rubbish. It's shiny and finished but they start to rust pretty fast and standard they still leave a lot to be desired.

When on the market for bikes I found an Australian guy who had spent alot of money on one and wanted to sell it so he could leave the country quickly. He had done some mod's but didn't like it so was happy to sell it on.

Mods when I first got it:
1. Bored out to 230cc
2. Larger sprocket on rear wheel
3. Handlebars changed to clip-ons
4. All visible nuts and bolts changed to gold anodized
5. Café racer custom Zeus seat
6. Bar end side mirrors
7. Replaced rear light and indicators
8. Replaced Carburetor
9. Replaced front and rear tires to deep Zeus V-Rubbers

The first thing I wanted to change is the bulbous side panels, my guess is the brand was trying to make the bike similar to a SR400 or Triumph but it's not the direction I want to go with it.
I got custom Aloy plates made and put them on either side :

Also because the bars had been changed to clip on's I got a new tripple tree

Next I tore off the thigh panels from the tank and sanded the tank down with 2000 grit sand paper to make it Matte blacktank

And this was about the time I started having engine trouble.

One of my valves bent and then I had some gasket issues. The bike has been made 230cc so all gaskets need to be modified or hand made, at first I went the modify option and unfortunately they blew out and I was loosing compression

Engine work is still in progress but I am hoping to be riding again very soon.

Below is what is it looking like now, but for me this is far from finished, I am unsure weather to keep improving what the guy before me had started or if I should just strip it and start again, I like some things he's done but the gold is a bit .. meh... I have some ideas that could work with it, but we'll see.

First the engine and then the rest. Watch this space

I watch a lot of their builds. Smoke hanging off lips...sandals...t shirts...and mig welding...cool bikes. Good luck with build.
