Looking good! My grandpa has an old 84 virago thats all original with 2400 miles thats pristine but your virago makes me want to cut it up!

Great lookin bike. The more I see the viragos the more I want one!

Ps your gauges are too high :)

That thing must be loud as hell! Did you sneak air filters in somewhere?

no, need some air pods, did sneak some 6in silancers in the exhaust, not to loud. Thx Rich

I know this is a suuuuper old thread revival.... but are there any more pictures of this? i found a Virago for pennies on CL and i'm looking to do something similar to what you have here. I like it.

Am I the only one who thinks this is what the battery box looks like?

thanks! the virago really is an interesting base to start with. so ugly stock, but that v twin is sexy and the customs i've seen from it, including this one, just look awesome.

There's definitely something addictive about these bikes ! I have 4 projects now based on the UK version the TR1 [ 980cc / chain drive ].

The first is to be a 60's Brit style Cafe Racer [ my era ]. I've managed to collect most of the parts needed over the past 12 months and the donor [ 18K mile 1 owner bike ] has been stripped down to the bare frame / motor and all the unwanted squitter sold off to finance the project.

Won't duplicate the info here [ it's over in "Vindicator" - Cafe Racer in the Projects pile ], but here's just the basics - a different approach to most of my US and Canadian cousins.

Alloy rimmed steel spoked wheels [ XS650 ]
Grimeca 4LS front hub / brake
AJS 7R influenced 5 gall tank
AJS 7R seat base
+ all the usual clip-ons, rear-sets, etc, etc.
