  • JustinLonghorn: I am still debating a new welder purchase. It's either that or I put money into the two chop builds.
  • Hurco550: welder first. the chops will come and go, welder is a good investment
    Today at 15:43:06
  • JustinLonghorn: [link]
  • JustinLonghorn: I am either going to buy that or an Eastwood Mig 185
    Today at 15:54:03
  • JustinLonghorn: [link]
  • JustinLonghorn: Sorry, 175
  • SONIC.: Get the miller. Eastwood is a great machine until something goes wrong, then you're shit out of luck. Been there done that. I've been slowly replacing mine with miller and Lincoln because literally zero shops will work on the Eastwood if something goes wrong, and eastwood doesn't even have electrical schematics for their welders
    Today at 16:03:45
  • Hurco550: agreed with that statement
  • advCo: I would like a spool gun. I have the HF MIG 170 and its been a great machine. Bought it in '14 and haven't had a single issue. Granted, I don't weld every day but I've laid quite a bit of bead with it.
  • Kamn: Afternoon Folks, what about the Vulcan series at HF?? They are made by hobart IRK. And I want to get the spool gun for the mig i have
    Today at 16:58:03
  • Kamn: sorry, I meant IRC
  • advCo: Whats up kamn
  • Kamn: not much, long day and I finally received the coil module for the cx500, maybe i can get it finished up tonight and out of hair this week
    Today at 17:56:58
  • Kamn: how you doing advCo?
  • Hurco550: vulcan is not made by hobart. In fact, hobart and miller are owned and produced by the same parent company. Hobart is that companies economy line while the miller brand is their commercial line. If i remember correctly, the vulcan line is made by a company out of Indiana
    Today at 18:06:49
  • Kamn: Ahh, I had read somewhere that they were made by hobart .....maybe they meant hobart copy.
  • advCo: I got the Chicago electric MIG. Proudly made by China
    Today at 18:09:59
  • advCo: Pretty good man trying to make it through the work day. Weather is decent so I'm going to head home and try and get some metalwork on the Bus knocked out
    Today at 18:11:17
  • Kamn: hell yeah, that bus needs to be driven
    Today at 18:36:20
  • Kamn: I still say you drop a 911 motor and tranny in it
    Today at 18:36:39
  • advCo: Ha, its early so its designed around the type 1 doghouse motor. It'd be less work to put a subie in it
    Today at 18:40:55
  • Kamn: that sound good as well, Jap it up. Maybe AWD it??
  • advCo: Lol, you fab up a drivetrain for me and I'll do it
    Today at 18:50:13
  • Kamn: if I lived anywhere close to you, I would be there with  my tools to help you get it fabbed up
    Today at 18:53:33
  • advCo: Would be rad. Anyways I'm off to the shop. Later
    Today at 18:56:43
  • Kamn: later dude
