Re: 1977 BMW R100/7 Miles Von Muncher Hellride

Since the ignition switch was the left headlight mount, I needed to relocate the switch...

Somehow, between picking this bike up in Kentucky and Augusta, I have managed to lose the headlight ring, lens and deflector. To replace the three parts was going to set me back about $200. Fuck that. The bucket is in decent, but not great shape anyway. I found a headlight in the UK, Alchemy Parts, that is slightly smaller than the 8" Beemer. I machined some mounting hardware for what turns out to be a pretty good looking headlight...

You do. Not mine tho. A guy brought it by to get me to give it a once over so he can sell it. He picked it up for $400 at an estate sale- a 1978 f model.

Stored away indoors since 1982. Low miles, perfect paint, no rust, factory tires- absolutely cherry. The brake fluid looks like Jell-O

Picked up a /7 tank at Barber for a small price and switched to a /6 seat. I shaved an inch off the rear subframe to lower the seat while also raising the rear end to level the bike out. Also bought a mint rear fender to move back to stock...
