I just bought a Ace with a lot of km on the counter (+17000km) for a small price. I think the engine has had its best time and I would like to do a rebuild. Did any of you allready install the 150cc head from OORacing (together with the 909 tuning kit)? Is it a big improvement for topspeed and power? I found some topics but no new top speeds and reviews after the conversion.
I was also thinking about the 250cc engine but it's a bit pricy. Did anybody do this conversion and is it worth the price?
Fitting a 250cc motor is probably too much for the rest of the bike.
Has your bike had any modifications? Regardless of capacity, the original exhaust is no help in the power department.
While I don't think 17000k is a lot, it probably needs a freshen up at least.
Check out the Ace Owners Locator (http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=55426.60) to find any other owners near you and check the database (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Al1LNMJQkZqydE1YZHVpV2RoOGJQVmpkT1ZKMVozSlE#gid=0) for some of the modifications people have made.
150 kit is great. . I think the 909 kit has exhaust in it. This would be a great stArt. Do break pads and shoes. Get rid of standard tyres to m45 michelins. . All the other mods are extras. Worth a go if you got the bike cheep enough.
Checked their website. Would recommend 909 kit plus big bore upgrade. Repack muffler as soon as you get it. If you don't bike will be loud. Their claim of 10+ hp if you do both kits is believable.
