Hello! mucking around with a CB350, pictures say a thousand words so let your eyes do their thing and you can read all these words in the voice of Clint Eastwood in your head to make me sound cool! haha

Lunch break!
IMG_0480.jpg

Frame and stuff getting pressure washed
IMG_0499.jpg

Exotic lunch of local cuisine
IMG_0502.jpg

Used oven cleaner, pretty caustic stuff turned the alloy a dull grey, so looks like my motor is going to be grey haha
IMG_0505.jpg

Totally professional spary booth looks suspiciously like my mums carport..
IMG_0508.jpg

stock backing plate looks terrible, makes me feel sad.
IMG_0511.jpg

Speed holes fixes everything!! yay
IMG_0512.jpg

Sand the chrome back and etch primer the rims, taping the spokes took a heavy toll on my sanity
IMG_0529.jpg

Red wheels!! thats new NOBODY has ever done that before! haha
IMG_0526.jpg

Too hot to work in the shed, could cause an accident if you get dehydrated and pass out so best go to the beach to ride dirtbikes and drink cold beers.
IMG_0568.jpg

Too many people at the beach today, bloody crowds.
IMG_0565.jpg

when the tide goes out the sand is great to play on

Nice start mate. I was trying to pick what state you were in from the trees and beach. I was thinking the WA, SA border.

What is your plan for the bike? Or just what happens will be.

Remove the starter motor, alloy bottle top from danska vodka was a press fit to blank off the hole!! sweet

IMG_0534.jpg

Dont drink the vodka all at once! you'll get sick
IMG_0538.jpg

nice fit
IMG_0536.jpg

stripped and cleaned rear shocks,
IMG_0524.jpg

drilled and tapped a 6mm bleed hole, changed the oil to 20w50 so they have something ressembling damping now
IMG_0544.jpg

bleed air and install screw with copper washer with the shock fully compressed
IMG_0549.jpg

SPEED HOLES!!
IMG_0542.jpg

lots of scrubbing
IMG_0531.jpg

turns out the rear axle is the right thread to use as a flywheel puller, thanks Mr HONDA
IMG_0533.jpg

Reason for kickstart return spring not working becomes apparent, someone had removed it! cool as easy fix.

IMG_0577.jpg

clutch was stuck, quick "surface grind" of the steels fixes that!
IMG_0579.jpg

Starting to look like a bike again!!! yay

No real plan, just make something fun to play around on.

do you have some pics of the engine after cleaning it?

No good ones sorry, the oven cleaner turned the alloy a really dull grey colour, it's ok for a rat bike but i would not use it for a cafe or a nice build.

This bike was from the coast and everything was heavily rusted to start with.

went for a shake down ride, did a 2000km trip up to the desert

the scenery was amazing, and no major parts fell off the bike!
