Im just starting a tracker build, and wanna know everyone input on the front forks. Change them, use the originals? Thanks

pix.....when you have enough posts.

Depends......condition.

I’m wanting to do a modern look to the tracker style. The forks on the bike are in great condition.

Well, then you should use them. Budget wise, that is.

Unless you are money bags and want to spend, spend, spend.

I'd say use them. Of course if you want to raise the bike up a bit being a tracker you could go with something a bit longer but a period correct upgrade like cb750 forks

Unless you have a machinist buddy be ready to spend for a modern front end. You can go a little cheaper if you use the matching wheel to the forks, but if you want spokes it'll cost even more. I made my own stem, modified a hub, and had it laced to a 17" wheel, still cost close to $1k. Breakdown, forks $200, stem $0, hub $20, bearings/seals $40, rim and lacing $550, rotor $35, caliper $40 etc.

Thanks for the input! I think Im gonna stick with them for now.

Man that’s a nice looking bike as it is, you should put it back together, tune it up and ride it.

I would personally choose a less complete example for a custom build. But that’s me.

^^^^^^I know right^^^^^^^that's what I would do.

Looks like the carbs and air boxes are missing, you have those?

Man I would like to get my hands on something like that.

I've got a basket case 350 I'm trying to piece together now.

But that thing is really nice.
