1974 CB750 Rear Hub

Hey folks,

I got a rear and front sprocket spacer on my CB750K to run a wider rim and tire from Cognito Moto. When I go to put the nuts on the, studs are too short after the spacer is on. Anybody ever encounter this? If so, what’s the remedy ?

Also, how flush does the hub have to be. Fitting my sprocket assembly into my hub with the dampers is a pain in the ass!

In the past, the MO to put wider tires on a CB750 was to run a 77-78 carrier (Honda made them with the sprocket more outward for a wider stock tire), which gave you more clearance for the bigger rim. You can also lace the wheel a little off center to get a few more mm of clearance. Cycle X sells an offset rear sprocket, which allows you to forgo the 77-78 carrier. I'm making an assumption that the studs are threaded in. I can't figure out why Cognito Moto would sell the kit that doesn't account for the stud length, otherwise.

Mine is a 74. So it’s possible those studs in there are threaded in there. Meaning I can turn them out?

I’m not sure why that wouldn’t be accounted for either. I can’t be the only one with this problem. Maybe just the only one who doesn’t know they thread it lol
