Good looking bike so far. I applaude you for attempting truing rims. I hear the first time its terrible and gets easy with experience. As a general mechanic/handyman i have a very short list of things ill pay others to do. On that list are window tinting, rim truing,...and sexual favors.

Lol i might learn your wisdom the hard way!

Appreciate the comments on the bike! It seems that just when you think your clearing a hurdle you end up on the track

On the bright side

So i will update the best i can as i have been pretty stretched thin between school, my job, working on my house, and maintaining my relationship with others in my life. There is a saying in my life that is resonation in me in a profound way lately,

"Life is a search for the time to understand tomorrow".

Time is too valuable lately.

But i digress.

I have completed my wheel truing. I contactef buchanan the day after breaking a spoke, they had a replacement IN THE MAIL in 24hrs. They also waved all the expidition costs, charging me only the costs of the spoke.Amazing company at buchanan.
I then proceeded to mount my tubes and tires.Of course i ruined the paint on one side of my rear wheel in doing so... doing things on your own for the first time is just peachy.more work ahead.

Ive completed the restore on my speedo, shown in the attached pics. I re-flushed and filled my front forks. I have my rolling frame at least :). I had some parts arrive :p. Including an antigravity 4 cell, stainless allen bolt kit(engine), magnetic oil plug, and various other small things.

I am now at the point of re-disassembling my engine. While doing this, ive decided to add to my project. I found, what was most likely the issue that parked the bike permanently. My stator housing(where it bolts to the aluminum cover) had a bolt hole basically break. Which allower the stator and rotor to become out of allignment, causing a shorted alternator.

I am glad i took her apart again. I am not glad about having it rewound. But, it allows me to rationalize more updates on my babe. ;)

So, in future posts, i hope to show progress on my engine rebuild. This should include new overbored pistons, light port work on the head, an updated electrical system, and possibly a newer top end.

I hope i can source all the parts my heart desires :s.

Following are the pictures i currently have on my phone. Hit me with any questions and id be happy to oblige.

Sorry if there are typos, im entering this on my phone.

Only one question, can you make me a speedo like that in 2.5"? Lol

Haha, as long as the speedo can be easily split anybody could do what i did! I'll be running a 2.5" tach on this bike. I am replacing the stock light in that with an led, maybe what i do there will be of more help to you?

Bike is looking great, hope I can keep motivated, I want to have it done by summer when it stops raining here.

Good evening all!

Sorry about the absence of posting lately.

I broke the camera on my phone and now need to resort to the "old fashioned" way of updating photos with a digital camera and computer. ::)

Thank you all for the compliments and encouragement. It helps alot honestly.

I have a few pictures on my phone that i will add tonight with a little more progress.

First off, does anyone know what this pin is for/from?
It fell from my front sprocket when i was removing the chain lubricator nut. Is it possible it ended up trapped in there by accident?

Your bike is looking great, love the paint and that speedo light.

As far as truing your wheels make sure you have the proper offset, if there is one.

Now that spring is nearly in full swing in ND, I hope to be updating this thread until it is complete.

My new 1mm overbore kit and my rewound stator (thanks to rickmotorsports) will be arriving this week.
Now I just have to get through finals and I can continue the push

Some pics of where I am on the bike. STILL waiting on my cylinders; my machinist had his tools back ordered. But, as soon as I drop the the engine in place it will be a sprint to the finish. It will then be the harness, controls and tuning. Other details like plates and other misc items will be coming too of course. I will use the stock high pipes just to get the thing on the streets. Eventually I will do a custom 2 into 1 stainless set up.

Some notes about the pictures:

I have limited tools at home, but I have been acquiring raw materials. My fairing is a work in progress. I am trying to integrate everything into a single unit.

The tires I have are Bridgestone Battlax BT 45s 120/90 18 (rear on stock rim) and 100/90 19 in front.

My fairing is a real brute so far, due to the limitations of my tools. It will come together eventually.

Don't mind the mess in my basement shop.

Any other questions should pm me.

Oh, I have to re-disassemble my speedo. In my anxiousness to test the unit it shorted the halo led.
