Sprocket Gearing Help

Been Around the Block
If I run a 17T Front and 34T Rear, ratio is 2...

If I want to use a stock Rear of 48T, can I do a 24T front o maintain ratio of 2, and call it good??
Is this the same? What sprockets do I need for this conversion?

What's the stock front?
You usually want to keep near the stock ratio and go up or down a tooth or two as you like but major changes are generally a bad idea unless you're building a boneville bike.

What's the point? If you're keeping the ratio the same, keep the sprockets stock. You're just adding more links to your chain, which means more weight.

Will a 24t front sprocket even fit, or will it have OD clearance issues? Regardless, it will do nothing as far as changing anything between the 17/34 and 24/48. Go to Gearing Commander and plug in numbers to see.

Thanks for the replies already guys!

The Why:
Im running a cb750 aluminum disc conversion hub (and rim) on my 360 and need a sprocket for that.
CB750 sprocket is stock 48T, cb360 stock is 34.
CB750 sprocket is 4, 12.5mm holes drilled 78mm apart as a square, and 110mm apart across, with 80mm diameter center hole

IF I GO UP EVEN ONE TOOTH, DO I NEED MORE LINKS IN MY CHAIN?

I have 17T up front for a bit better highway gearing. (up 1T from 360 stock 16T)

So I am in the market for a either:
-custom 750 sprocket with 34T
Or
-a new front /rear sprocket combo to deal with near stock CB750 48T - 43T sprockets....

The 48T is for 630 chain, right? You need to convert that to 520 anyway, and go to a smaller rear sprocket.

Get measurements based off their drawings and they will find the sprockets you need. You can get them on eBay.
