The Buy It Now CB750

That Kroil stuff is awesome. My buddy's a mech for a major airline and hooks me up with that stuff. Glad to see minimal carnage with the new cases, always a nailbiter.

I swear by this stuff now, it is literally a miracle worker. Fortunately the shop I intern at keeps it on hand always. I reccomend it to anyone. As far as I know though you have to purchase online directly through them. I'm sure there are some distributors out their but I'm unaware of them.

So after looking at those pics.....do you think I have any future as a hand model?? ;D

Man I had one of those little vice tables for years, served me well until the wood in the top finally broke out.

Yeah, it is awesome. I want to get one for myself. Thing comes in handy for all different types of jobs.

Minor update; Allen Head engine hardware came in.

Do you have an overall build sketched out? Id love to see

Max I do! I never realized I didn't post it. Only difference will be the Swing Arm is going to be gold to match the forks. Disclaimer: I have never claimed to be an artist.

Well played Deviant.

I love it man! but really all that matters is that you do, are you going to go with gsxr forks possibly? Haha if you look at my build you will see I am no artist either.

Thanks man. I cant wait to get here close to complete, I am a long ways away, but the journey is half the fun.

Yeah, I bought a set of 05 GSXR 600 Forks basically complete off of a member here, waiting for them to come in the mail at this time. Along with some other goodies too. I already had a set of 04-05 GSXR 600 brakes sitting around waiting for the right front end to pop up, since I was burned on the last one. Will post updates when I get everything in.

Forward Progress, got my new cylinder studs in from APE. ALso bought a set of 836cc pistons off ebay. They were cheaper, but I looked into it a bit and couldnt find anything bad about them, so figured why not. They came with a head gasket. And upon visual inspection they really don't look that bad. So we'll see. Going to disassemble the old motor and take the cylinders in for some work. Replace all worn parts, check everything out, and rebuild with over bore.

The guy I bought the GSXr600 front end from fell through. Sent him cash, waited, got a refund for them... 2nd set to fall through on me now. Which has led me a front end off of from a ZX6R. Looks promising, will post pictures when I get it.

Late night craigslist surfing brought up a 1975 CB200T for $400 with title, no spark, and needed some work. Looked pretty solid from the pictures, so I called the guy later talked to him for close to a half an hour about the bike. Decided why not. Just going to get it running and ride it till the 750's done. So I went and purchased it the next day for $300. Need to inspect and figure out why no spark, clean up the gas tank and repaint it along with side covers. Fix hand controls. Tune up, and ride. Also fully inspect everything on bike and repair / replace. Ride until CB750s finished. (Wild straps strung about via dad; he likes to make them all taut)

200's are fun little bikes, I've been looking for one for quite a while, got a good deal on that one if it can be made to run. Shouldn't be too much trouble with that either.

It looks as though it shouldn't take much to make it run. But I haven't tore into it yet to try and identify the issue at all. Will start on it this weekend probably, have a swap meet im going to Sunday though so it may get pushed back a week.

Nice score - if you ever want to part with her and you don't chop it, lemme know :)
I won't be cutting this one up, and will do. I'm excited to get it running, so I can get back into the 750.

Finally a front end showed up. O05/06 ZX6R forks. Need to press out the steering stem and alter it with a lathe a bit, then work on getting the rest of the components I am going to want/need for it. However I will be temporarily shifting gears to get the CB200T running, then going back to this.

I soaked them in Sili Kroil(This shit is worth its weight in gold, seriously)

I fully support the above statement. also I remember reading this from who knows when over on garagejournal (minor thread jack):

Machinist Workshop magazine studied the most popular penetrating oils to see
what did the best job of removing rusted bolts by measuring the pounds of torque
required to loosen the bolt.
These were the results they published:
Penetrating oil: Average load:
None...................................516 lbs.
WD-40.................................238 lbs.
PB Blaster.............................214 lbs.
Liquid Wrench........................127 lbs.
Kano Kroil..............................106 lbs.
ATF-Acetone mix......................53 lbs.
“The Auto Trans fluid- acetone mix was a "home-brew" mix of 50-50 ATF-acetone.
The home brew tested better than the commercial products in this test. Note that
Liquid Wrench is about as good as "Kroil" for about 20% of the price.”

Ever so minor of an update. Delayed due to a whole bunch of random shit popping up. Being super busy at the shop now its starting to become spring, and getting into a nice car accident(rear ended) while at work! Been two weeks and I'm about to have to go back to the Dr. because something in my back is not right.

Anyways, They don't make all balls bearings for CB750 to ZX6R, I knew that going into this but it ain't no thing bit a chicken wing. I got on All Balls sight and ordered the largest ID bearings they have for a CB750 conversion. ID:30. OD:48.5 Height:15. Going to press the steering stem out of the lower triple, hook it tot he lathe and have it turned down to fit the ID of the new bearings. I cant recall the dimensions off of the top of my head but the threads I think were 26.xx and the rest of the stem where the bearings sat was 34.xx or something similar. So wont have to take off a whole lot, but the stock 05/06 ZX6R steering stem is quite thick so there will be plenty of meat left on the bone after machine work is finished.

Also have located the proper front chain sprocket to change my bike from 530 to 520 to be able to run the stock Ninja 250R rear rim. Going from 530 to 520.

Well, The 750 is still progressing slowly, nothing to write home about yet though.

I wanted a different gas tank for my CB200T project though as the one I got needs a little work, Well my search for a tank turned into a whole bike, but the thing is the guy wouldn't part a lot of 3 CBs, CB200T, CB350. and a CB550. So I ended up with all the bikes... The seats and tanks and other parts are in the bed of the truck.
