Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender.

Thanks frogman. I really like it. The old lady stepped out the door, wrinkled her nose and said "Its VERY German looking" I think it kinda gives it an old military feel...maybe. I think it looks better here in the garage "in person" than it does in that pic. The angle maybe I suppose. Ill try another pic here in a moment.

Lol at xb...Thats some crazy ass Evil Kineval clearance on the ole bsa!

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender.

Looks sweet Mang... if the ass keeps the juice off yer crack it's all good, that XB BSA Gold Star was the long travel version for loading up pack mule style or for the two up heavy er chick.

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender.

not my BSA mine is a plunger, the goldstars did look extreme but that is the way they were ,on chuckhole ridden half mud paved rodes in the pouring rain a rear hugger aint gonna fly.i do like the way it is layed out with the gwacefull support bar lash on each side

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender/ Hack Job Rear.

Woke up at 3:21 this morning. So, driven by a nicotine/caffeine burst. I got busy.

Its pretty much a complete hack job. But, a job none the less. And it gives me a good idea what I want. It will last til next winter and I re-do it. ::)

grind, cut, drill...repeat. knocked the old front fender off its brace and pulled rear off.

Funny, they pretty much "snap" together then just drill and bolt her up. Also, funny the trimmed areas to clear forks pretty much fit swingarm perfectly.

Bonus, F-ed up paint already matches. 8)

And here she is. I tried to get the front a rear braces to be near the same angle.

I do wish she had a little more clearance on the tire...but hell isnt 2mm enough! Kidding, its maybe 1/2 inch I woulda rather seen 3/4.

If I need to adjust chain this season Im screwed. LOL Cutting a link out of chain will give me the clearance Ide like.

I like the full rear fender, FWIW. The hacked fenders always seem to look hacked to me.....The full fender is more aesthetically correct to me....

Thanks & I agree, now that I see it. the short fenders grew on me. But I am really liking this from the start. It just looks right.

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender/ Hack Job Rear.

This is the best the bike has looked to me. Awesome.

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender/ Hack Job Rear.

Thanks dude. Im still gonna punch you. ;)

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender/ Hack Job Rear.

I really like the new look.
Kinda sorta like something a lot older modified in Europe to match 1950's 'race' tech ;D 8)
Really like the exhaust as well, may make something closer to that than the modern MX silencer (or maybe modify the modern stuff and paint it 'battleship grey' ;) )

thanks bubba! ;D

Am I going TOO cheesy?
Ordered it from India for $18 and free shipping, the "Panther" sticker will come off. I will definitely epoxy it all black and just add some random numbers in gray or white. I may do some re-sizing w the grinder.

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender/ Hack Job Rear.

Nope, it's fine. I have one from several years ago that I was going to fit on XS 800. As usual, I never got around to it.
My father had Panther's for years, left the last one to my brother in his will, 1963 model 120 (650 single)

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender/ Hack Job Rear.

I have a 1952 BSA A10 in Britain, number is LYX 160
My father always wanted it on a bike that would actual pass 160mph (licks 160 ;D )
Maybe you should use LYX120? (or at least 110 ;) )

Re: 76 CB360, Functional Front Fender/ Hack Job Rear.

You need a new bike, so you can leave this one alone.
