OH SHIT!!.. The new locO Triumph 650!!... DAMN...

nice work,
you really want to get rid of that frt end????????????
i love the look of this bike.
i have a question, you don't need to answer it. just alittle interested on how much one of these builds would be done. if you were to sell it how much would you let it go for??????????????
i think i want to buy one for this riding season,
any way, love it and for me i would keep the frt end, gives it a wicked stance.
thanks,
later.

Noel, I love that seat!! Where did you find it?

It came with the project.. But I've seen similar on ebay...

OK Boys and Girls.... Ive listed the frontend for sale/trade here:

The thing is.. it might already be spoken for buy our own local DTT playboy millionaire extraordinaire...

Well that ain't me, I know that. You selling yours got me thinking about selling mine.... not sure when/if I'm ever going to get to that 650 project.

I love where you're going with this. Awesome.

That's a great hard-tail frame. Most look like shit to me. The rear end looks like it will have a bit of flex to absorb the bumps.
The Triumph tank is exactly the way you want to go. More functional/industrial. And a lower centre of gravity than that peanut tank.
Glad you got rid of that girder front-end. They're stupid. Fashion masturbation. You want a tight handling front end.
Forget the 19" front wheel. Fashion masturbation. 18" will tighten the handling.
You need a front disc. What's the point of such a light, fast bike that can't stop?

Just my 2 cents. Who cares.

wow.. has it been that long since I've added to this thread?.. Geezz..

Where here is some updates:

I traded the girders with Drury for an old springer set up...
Had them shortened and rebuilt with new rockers and lowers.- Compliment of Zach Husted -

So as I go to put them on, I find that they needed a custom top triple bolt that Druro whipped on the lathe!

In the mean time, since the girders were already off the bike, I just slapped on a set of OIF front end that I had lying around:

When the bolt came back, I slapped on the Springers and it was a perfect fit.
They were 4 under harley stock and just slammed the bike to the ground!

and voila:

Not much to do on the bike:
- flush out and treat the tank
- wire up the headlight & brake light

This bike has had various "make-overs" over the past few years.
This is what the poor thing looke like when it first came to my garage:

Then:

then a motor rebuild:

Then I was looking to swap out the front end and traded the girders for the long springer front end:
SPringers.jpg

Then I almost put on a set of reverse springers:

Then I put a stock OIF front end with a 19" front wheel:

Then finally a set of short springers:

Triumph tank for sure! dude bike looks sick! love the new springer front end! sets the bike off for sure. nice work

I gotta go with the consensus. Triumph all the way.

Yeah.. that what I was orginally thinking.. but the BSA tank looks just as good..
If I use the Triumph tank, I'll put the BSA on tank on my next bobber project: a 68 Triumph T140, thats sitting under a tarp at my parents place, next to my 66 BSA...

Plans: swap out the front end with stock and stick the BSA tank on it:

Good call on the shortened springer....that looks GREAT!!!

Me personally, I'm a fan of those old trumpy tanks....just something classic about em!!!!

Looking good man!
