A newbie getting started

Hi guys,

Recently I've been on one to two rides on the back of my cousins bike. I think i have the motorcycle bug.

So instead or spending my couple hundred bucks vacation money and time on sandy white beaches. I was thinking of building/repairing a piece of crap bike.

I'm handy but I've never worked on bikes. What should I read up on to know what I am getting myself into?

I have more time than money. But with some luck I hope to have something ridable by September. If everything works out this will be my build thread.

Heya; I'm new to this whole thing too, and the first thing I did was find a decent yet cheap bike on craigslist. It's actually rather easy if you keep your eyes open. Or ask around with friends/family see if anyone has an old bike in a garage somewhere. And when you do find one and start wrenching around on it, it becomes rather addictive. Good luck on your search!
