Have you noticed DennisKirk are getting in on the Cafe thing, is that good or bad? I think bad.

Remember that "cafe racers" have been around since most people heres grandparents were young. There were tons of catalouges selling cafe parts then because there were people buying them. There are people buying those parts now, so companies will sell them. Supply and demand. Just means those of us that are really into the bikes not the fad, need to be more selective in our purchases. Research who youre giving your money to. Dont bitch, protest.

There is a TON of potential here. Just about everything is there. Just needs tweaked, and some inspired thinking. Yes, Im being serious.

As it sits I don't dig it, but I agree in the potential. It's pretty much a blank canvas as it sits.

Exactly. Right now that bike is no worse off or worse looking than most of the piles of primarily 70s crap we all start with. A couple months worth of work, and some creative fabrication and that could easily be a really rad bike. Hell, Id LOVE to get my hands on an older wrecked sport bike to do a modern cafe (even though a stock CBR, R6, etc is basically everything a modern cafe should be minus the obligatory Anime sci-fi style they all have).

I've been on the look out for something along the lines of a GPz 750 or the like. Sport bike without the cradle over motor frame. Heck, I'll really take anything interesting or that has potential if it's the right price. Tough to find though because I'm a cheap bastard. I blame my Scottish side.

I just want to say that I love this thread. Am I the only one that notices a correlation between the grammar/spelling in the posts and the quality of the bikes?
And I didn't know that the first cafe racer had saddle bags a trunk and a fuck all sailboat fairing... interesting.
