My father picked up this gadget and suggested it would be good for my bike.

Though he is right, I don't have an iPhone. Basically, its a fob you attach to an item, and it sounds an alarm on your phone if the item in question goes out of range. A neat and cheap alternative to a bike alarm. This prompted me to do a search here and see what other people use for their bikes, but I came up short. So this post is 2 fold. I wanted to share the product as it could be useful to some people and also see what you guys do, if anything.

I make very sure not to live in a metropolitan area, and use a bad paint job to keep thieves at bay.

No problem.

Here's a pretty neat 'ask me anything' by a guy who claimed to have been a thief and chop shop operator. He outlined which things were easiest to defeat and which were a waste of time and money - and at the end of the day, it sounds like the best answer was "insurance".
