Re: My new workshop (it has begun)

So the remesh is getting delivered next Tuesday, so next Saturday we should be doing the concrete! just a couple of small jobs to get done this weekend and we are go!

Re: My new workshop (it has begun)

Nice! Looks like you know what you're doing.

Re: My new workshop (it has begun)

Def looks like you know what you're doing there. Is this just a second hobby or what you do for a crust?

Re: My new workshop (it has begun)

Hey all, well to start small update, I have removed the window at the back of the existing garage and cut away the bottom brick section to create the doorway for the workshop. Lucky for me when they built the garage the put in a large steel lintel and the opening is 1.2mtrs wide so plenty of room to get bikes in and out. HA ha no I don't do this for a crust Teazer I'm a lead install Tech for a commercial AV company. but lucky for me I've always been a practical person so I can pretty much do anything I put my mind to, all you have to do is research and ask the right people questions. anyway here are some pic's of the new opening. cheers Andy

Re: My new workshop (it has begun)

Ok, so my remesh arrived today with the setting chairs and I picked up the tie wire and mark out paint, looks like I will have heaps to do this weekend! so the plan will be to drill set in all the rebar to the existing garage slab and the new side footing, mark out the chair and height set locations before I slide the remesh into place. Then I have to finish the formwork along the footing wall ready for the concrete pour on the 28th. As a side project to this I also have a bit of concrete work to do around the back door area of the house, because I get a new workshop the Wife gets a new deck covering the entire area between the house and the workshop, so because I have planned drainage under the deck, it has to be concreted under it, lucky for me most of the area has already been done! anyhow here are a couple of pics including the small old deck I had to remove before and after.

Re: Ready for concrete!

Ok update time, finished setting all the rebar into place yesterday, so today my neighbour came over and helped me set the remesh into place then I added the chairs ready to wire it all up (public holiday on Wednesday I'll do that then) This Saturday the concrete will go in! I have hired a concreter to do this part and 3 of my neighbours are helping barrow the concrete (with the promise of Beer and BBQ! LOL)

Re: Concrete down!

Hi all, Well we finished the concrete pour yesterday and it came up Nice! There are some jobs that it is so worth paying a professional to do and screeding is one them. Had 4 of my neighbours come over and barrow so we were able to unload 8cubic meters of concrete in 1hour!
anyhow will take the formwork off next Weekend and give the whole area a good clean up so here's some pic's of how it all looks.
