going by your pic's the pin doesn't look like a split pin? if it was it would splay open to hold on to the cap holes but still move freely inthe tank hinge point

You'd flare that with something along the lines of a chain rivet tool, or a punch/hammer setup. I presume it was punched out for when the tank was painted (looks nice). You could replace it with a thin bolt or something.

$12 a pop, but pretty

I had a pair of those on my XS650 when I first put it on the road. Work like a charm - plenty of fuel flow and they look awesome. You can take them apart to clean them too. But sadly I dropped one, and they are glass. So there you go.

I may have to find a bolt/pin with a hole in it so I can use a cir-clip to lock it in if I cant punch it out/flare it thanks heaps guys. its very hard to do as it is with the new paint.

Something like this would be nice then ;) the 2nd 1 is what you really want eh :)

The first is called a clip pin and the 2nd is a circlip pin, i'm not sure where you can get them up there, I would just make one ;)

Make sure you're using EITHER plugs with resistance (BPR8ES vs. BP8ES) OR boots with resistance. Those NGK boots would be stamped 5Kohm if they have resistance built in. You don't want to double-down on your resistance - just creates a weaker spark.

Non-R plugs are sometimes hard to find. The bike will run fine with both boots and plugs having resistance, but try to eliminate one or the other (or both if you're not running an electronic ignition).

I have D8EA plugs as D8ES I could not get and all the mechanics here had no idea what the s stood for. Was told they where ok what do you think ? That's what I pulled out of the bike.

I got a new plug for the rs and its listed as the D8EA ;)

We will see soon if the plugs are spot on.

Ordered the pins online as I tried several shops and not one had anything to use instead.

Also got other things done :
Dropped the bike to the mechanic to start working on it.
Getting the exhaust adapters made as the old copper ones where too soft and bent.
Hide the wiring loom and installed the battery and earth and other wire bits.
Centre stand is on with the foot brake.
Headlight on and had to get some indicator ears from modern motorcycle co as where I wanted to mont them on the headlight didn't sit too well.
All the cables I got where way too long so had to cut and re size them pretty frustrating.
Carby's on and fuel lines and filters cut and ready to go.

Not too long now. I thing in a few weeks she will be a runner.

i have another question for you cb200 guys, if i was looking to upgrade the front brake dose anyone have a suggestion to a new one. preferably a system that bolts straight on. the one on it now is slightly worse for wear and after taking it apart to change the cable she's having difficulty actually working now grrrrr i have been told they kinda suck anyways but was just going to recondition it. what do we think????

Further to that I kinda liked the look of these pegs too so I grabbed them for 25$

I haven't had an opportunity to drop it off yet, thinking I should just put it in the work Van on the off chance I'm going close to them 1 afternoon :)

I have a question about your exhaust wrap, how long was the roll? how wide is the wrap? and did you have much left after you did both headers?  ;) :D ;D
