On a different end from the tachometer conversion, I got my replacement coils back from Dynatek and put them on the bike. He fired right on up and idled like a dream. I took a first stab on tuning it and felt it was good enough for a test ride. I got all suited up in my gear and rode out of the driveway and the bike started sputtering and died.
I thought to myself, WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM NOW... its been one thing after another for months. I was really starting to think I'd never get this bike going reliabily. I pushed the bike back in the garage and started looking at it to see what the problem was, then I looked at the fuel petcock and immediately felt really stupid. I had forgotten to switch it to ON, and the carbs had gone and run bone dry.
A minute later with an actual fuel feed, the bike was running like a champ. I took it out for short ride to shake things down. I'd ridden up and down my block a lot, but I'd never really taken it out on the streets until today.
I only rode about a mile but i had two different people yell at me, "NICE BIKE!!" I also GoPro'd the ride.
