Trick Oil Filter Cover

I was thinking about having the Oil filter cover taken down to round... i.e:

This one is on a CB750 built by carpy... But I was thinking, since I allready have an Oil cooler, it may be cool on my SECA, and allow for header wrap... It's hard to get the cover off and on now because of the 4-into-1.

Anyone here done this? Think it's a good/bad idea? Expensive or no?

Think it's neat looking but less effective cooling. Maybe paired with an oil cooler, or you could go oil cooler with a spin-on oil filter conversion.

That being said, it looks really cool and if you have the tools, I'd for sure get one made.

A few guys over at SOHC4.US have done that to their oil filter covers.
Does look trick..

Any idea how they did it? I.E. just take it to a machine shop and pay someone (How much somehtin like that'd cost)?

As I said before, my bike has an oil cooler, so I'm not worried about loosing the fins for cooling... and now that it's an old bike I like to change the oil and filter every 1500 - 2000 kms... The filter is such a pain in the ass to get off now around the header, and I want to wrap the pipes - which would make it even harder to remove.

I found the page you were talking about.
Apparently he did it on a lathe... and he wants $30 to do it. That's quite reasonable.
I'm hoping I can find someone locally to do the same thing for the same price.

Thanks
