Sure would be nice to be able to see the instrument gauge lights in daylight, though.. :-\
Well I made a vid of the gauge lights in the sun. But something has changed w my youtube and i have no idea how to put the vid on DTT now.

Its hard to keep it out of my shadow and not reflect the sun off the lens at the same time. The neutral and signal lights are nice and bright. I could see the high beam indicator. But its not as good.

do a search on youtube...72 CL100 led gauge in full sun.

Looks good- thanks for posting. My old incandescents are weak but still reasonably visible at a 0-degree viewing angle; the problem is the gauge is oriented such that I have to get up on the pegs to achieve that. I'll try one of the LED you guys recommend for the winker light and see what happens.

P.S. To embed a YouTube video, click on the "Share" link under the video title in the default YouTube view, then under the "Share" tab copy and paste the URL into your post on DTT.

Re: Piglet-I can't load a video anymore.

Yep your'e right about the limited angle of the gauge. Im not the biggest fan of that either.

My gauge leds came from sparckmoto. 5 pack for $5.

How did you get that vid to post here? Thanks!!!

It's a YouTube link. Copy and paste.

OK this is weird. My mini in the house no longer gives me the link address, just says "youtube.com", However, macbook in the garage still does.

must be a setting I need to find and click.

There should be an arrow in the upper right of the video. its curved up and right. Click on it and you should get several share options (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) which also includes "copy link".

Kids get to spend a couple hours in the pool.

11494-100515082209-9952035.jpeg

Chain soaking in penetrant. Working smoothly now.

advancer feels is working pretty smooth. Just gonna trust my uncle John had it set properly...in 1978.

Farm store opens at 9 so gonna get ready to run and see about a battery and plug.
I did pretty much the same thing. Didn't sleep well or much for 2 days. Bike is running fairly well now. Little more carb adjustment and think she will be running sweet again. That's a nice bike you got. I believe the Honda gods are smiling on me also. Hope all goes well with the cb550 I also acquired at the same time. Got both bikes for 300.

I wound up replacing that original carb w a new ebay cheapy. It was just worn out and had a bunch of leaks around jets and threads and such.

72, CL100 - Going OFFFF THE GRID - Piglet 2.0

Prepping to take Piglet on Appalachian Mountain trails of N Carolina in a couple months.

The plan...

Cheng Shin Knobby tires
Tusk-bark busters
MX-spring pegs
gators
custom fitting a skid plate from 72 - SL100 (you'd think they would be close...NOT) :p
custom fitting case savers from 78 - CB400 (closer to "bolt on" than the skid plate).
custom fitting NOS 1980 CM200t twist throttle (to get rid of the weird slide throttle setup)
needle & jet
find a front fender OR fit the stock CL fender
find box and mount on rear rack.

Only a slight grinding mod to fit the spring loaded folding pegs.

PITA to fit the bark busters. (waiting for new twist Throttle to arrive from U.K. before fitting right side.

Going to mount tires at buddy Tims place at 10:00 this a.m.

I did the same thing with a cheapie.......got lucky for a few hours of playing up and down the street, but started peeing, shut it down and is in the corner of the shed covered,

Haven't touched it in awhile.

Seeing you with piglet again, I might get my little 100 out and play some more.

Thanks bud, they look fat in that pic. But at stock 2.75 they are actually pretty skinny.

Re: 72- CL100 - Going OFFFF THE GRID - Piglet 2.0

Probably 'wide angle' lens distortion

Re: 72- CL100 - Going OFFFF THE GRID - Piglet 2.0

The twist throttle conversion went well and works smooth. 8)
Had to shorten the sheath on the new cable. cut about 1/2" more than I should have. ::)
But the adjusters make up for it. So its all good.

Bark busters are a PIA to install but they are on, rock solid.

The easiest way is to find a teenager and get them to do it.

You obviously haven't tried to get a teenager to do anything (except complain ;D )
