Seriously though, looks so much better.

It does look much better. These 1960s German forks were definitely not made to be put on a Suzuki dirt bike but I think they fit the bill nicely.

I don’t know man. It looks all legit and pretty and stuff. I just don’t know if it’ll ever work.

Excuse the threadjack but your Africa Twin. How do you like it? I'd do things consider immoral to flightless poultry to have one of those in my garage. What a bike.

^^ That is in no way appropriate. First base, maybe - but their scratchy damn claws make all other advances totally off limits.

Kiwis however...

the people in the car during that chicken fucker scene were Farva's (Kevin Heffernan) actual parents. They had no idea what he was going to say, and their reactions were real.

Now back to regularly scheduled programming.

Thread dump. I have been terrible about updating this thread but progress is being made.

Fabricated a rear tank hold down from a stainless fender clip:

Got my rear wheel finished. XR250L cush drive hub powder coated and laced to a DID 18” wheel with Buchanan’s spokes. Brand new EBC wave rotor. Finally wrapped in a new D404 tire:

Dropped the motor in the frame in order to move forward with the rest of the fabrication:

Found, built mounts, and powdercoated a headlight from a 1932 American LaFrance fire truck. Dropped in a tri-bar H4 headlight to be able to run modern bulbs:

Built wheel spacers and hung the caliper bracket for the rear wheel. Then I fabricated rear fender struts from round bar and machined the mounting bungs on the lathe. Welded it all up:

And finally TIG welded together stainless mandrel bends and fabricated the exhaust. All stainless including the welds. Topped off with a Cone Engineering muffler:

I sure hope this ends up riding and handling good, because it looks great! Details are starting to really flesh it out.

Thanks man! Can’t see why it wouldn’t handle alright for a hardtail bobber anyway!
