1972 CL350 "Scrambler" project

Make more of those light/turn signal plates and you could make a mint. I'd happily be your first customer. ;D

Haha, I'm not an industrial designer but some of my friends are. One of them did the renderings of the light plate after I struggled with sketches for a few days (I'm an engineer, who can only draw with a T-square). It has been a lot easier to tweak in 3D.

The headlight is also going to be a little special, thanks to another friend's expertise in HID retrofits. The parts get in today, so maybe it can be done tonight!

I'd be misleading everyone if I said I was doing this all alone -- I'm lucky enough to have good assistance.

Oh, the bars are Renthal "ultra low" bars. I also like the wideness of them, as well as the finish. So much that my frame is going to be coated in a similar textured black :)

Laser cut the headlight plate out of ABS plastic. It needs to be bent to shape, hopefully I did the math right when "flattening" it out.

Two words...very cool! Couple questions, though. What kind of light is that and how are you going to mount the lights up to that plate?

It's a Hella 90mm projector, with HID retrofit and custom cutoff shield by FGKouki (He is quite well known for retrofits on hidplanet.com!). The light will be independently mounted from the plate, so that I can aim it properly. It'll probably be mounted to the lower triple clamp with a bracket (Haven't quite decided what to do exactly haha). The plate will be held onto the forks using adjustable threaded hex stock and clamps on the fork tubes.

Finally got the frame back from powdercoating. Pictures are terrible, sorry. I had an accident and smashed one of my fingers pretty bad so the going might be slow. That and I have my senior design project due this week at school.

Remind me to bring my camera/flash over next time. I have a really good idea to mount the headlight/backplate to the forks too.

It's a friend's truck. It's a 90's Nissan Hardbody (I'd love a Datsun 620 though!)

Not many pictures of it exist unfortunately haha. It has 4x4 flares and is lowered on some 5-spoke 15x10 wheels

Lifted this thing in. Frame unscathed!

Coming together a little. One of the turn signals' threads snapped off :(

No offense, but that light and plate looks too HUGE on there. I was expecting something a little more form fitting. The battery tray is spot on though!

That's pretty amazing work! What is the name of that plastic material you're using? Sweet battery box and rear end.
