hey guys!finally found time to spraypaint my moto parts!
...it came out great..that flat black has a nice deepness....
i used dupli supertherm!nice stuff!!!

so here´s a question.i want to file down the engine fins a little bit to get those aluminium edges back out again and polish them finally...

shall i do this before or after i bake the paint?
i´m afraid that the paint will chip off?!

what do you guys use to file it down?i thought about using my electrical file (like a small sanding machine, with low rpm).

thanks!!

You need a build thread.

It doesn't matter what you sand them with. A file, a grinder, a dremel, a nail file, just do it carefully to not fuck up the other paint

i know sonic!!!i collecting pics for you guys till i finally sort things out.will do soon!i promise :)

file it after or before baking :)?

I've found that using a sanding block and sandpaper works best for me. I sand them before I paint so that I get the shape beforehand. Then after painting the paint will sand off easily without having to shape the edge of the fins. Some are more rounded than others. I like to get a uniform flat edge on the fins before I paint.
