  • Maritime: the carbs aren't that hard to remove
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:33:14
  • advCo: Dont think that 1100 would be a great starter bike lol
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:34:21
  • Maritime: The 1100 gonna move a lot faster than the 535, I could get to about 120KPH on the 535
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:34:25
  • advCo: Spent about an hour bleeding the front brakes on the BMW last night. Pulled about 6 oz of fluid through with a hand pump vac bleeder and it was still sucking a crazy amount of bubbles through. Brake feels ok I did the zip tie trick overnight
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:35:35
  • Maritime: Yep that zip tie trick can make a big difference
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:36:21
  • advCo: Crazy amount of bubbles coming through, I couldn't believe it. Im wondering if theres either a leaks omewhere thats pulling air through or maybe through the bleeder screw threads or hose on the bleledr
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:37:22
  • Maritime: that's why I like reverse bleeding with a syringe on an empty system. feed from the caliper to the master. way less air
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:38:41
  • advCo: Thats the thing though it was never empty
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:39:31
  • irk miller: The most likely place would be the m/c piston.  Everything below usually just leaks, since air rises to the top.
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:39:33
  • advCo: Yeah good point
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:39:58
  • advCo: I'll see how it feels later. I may go for a test ride once its back togehter and I can use the syringe to push it up after if I need to
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:40:46
  • irk miller: Could be that the piston seals have dried and shrunk and fresh fluid may bring the back.
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:40:54
  • irk miller: *them
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:41:02
  • Maritime: that^^ if the MC was mostly empty for a bit while it sat
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:41:44
  • advCo: Yeah, the front brake system was in pretty poor shape. There was hardly any fluid in the master cylinder
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:41:55
  • irk miller: Air to the top, is why the ziptie thing works when it does.  Just takes a while for all the air to find it's way up, especially when it become foam.
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:42:05
  • irk miller: *becomes
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:42:18
  • Maritime: Yep if the fuid foams it sucks
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:43:05
  • advCo: hey irk you think you can scare up that speedo for me at some point?
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:43:49
  • irk miller: I have had bikes that worked better filling the lines one section at a time and worked my way up.  The GL was like that because once the splitter fills with air, it' really hard to get out.
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:43:56
  • irk miller: Yeah.  I can send it USPS 2 day or something.  Just pay shipping and it's yours.
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:44:35
  • Maritime: that is why I removed the splitter and went double banjo at the MC
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:44:42
  • advCo: Right on dude. Thanks. The non-working odometer bugs the crap out of me
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:45:03
  • advCo: Just let me know and I'll shoot you paypal
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:45:25
  • advCo: Yeah - those splitters suck. This is just a straight line from MC to caliper. I was going to replace the line with SS, I will probably do that next time I do maintenance on the brakes
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:46:09
  • advCo: I bought a voltmeter and dual USB charger, I pulled out the stupid clock on the dash and I'll 3d print a bezel for it.
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:51:54
  • advCo: Should be much more useful
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:52:06
  • Maritime: Yep, should be for sure
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:52:25
  • advCo: The clock never worked anyways lol
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:53:36
  • Maritime: Even better
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:53:50
  • advCo: Yep should be nice, has a rubber cover to close the USB ports when parked or wet weather
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:54:58
  • advCo: I bought a big pack of o-rings, crush washers and FI style hose clamps without the perforations. Be a nice addition to the toolbox
    Apr 18, 2019, 11:57:12
  • JustinLonghorn: I have a nice dual USB port on my Strom. It is wired to a battery tender plug.

    Apr 18, 2019, 13:00:04
  • JustinLonghorn: yeah. I just like the simplicity of the sidecar.
    Apr 18, 2019, 13:03:28
  • advCo: Neat, just dont get your fingers near that wheel
    Apr 18, 2019, 13:04:57
  • JustinLonghorn: I am thinking this would be a great start to a sidecar:
    Apr 18, 2019, 13:07:45
  • Maritime: Yes it would probably work well
    Apr 18, 2019, 13:33:56

    Apr 22, 2019, 09:11:31

    Apr 22, 2019, 10:32:37
