Does anybody KNOW how to get the spring off the rear shock of an 06 GSXR 600? I have the shock out, preload off, but can't see any way to remover the spring perch. Not my 1st rodeo, so please don't tell me "it should..."
With the pre load rings fully loosend, you may have to slightly compress the spring for the bottom assembly to basically fall out. I'm sure that You know that there are two halves that fit around the shaft whereas long as there is pressure they will not separate. I did the same shock by putting the spring in a vise to compress it. I used rags so that the paint on the spring would not get scuffed up in the process. Hope this helps.
