Reusing the instrument cluster diodes

I've got a DCC all-in-one speedo gauge with all instrument lights, hooked it up to
test all the lights, etc and it's great. Now, im about to chop the old cluster wires, there's
a 9p connector, so i opened all the wire tubing and noticed that there's a lot of in-line diodes.
Should i keep those? Spoke to a honda guy and he mentioned that there were no inline diodes
on his bike (73 cb550?) in the instrument cluster. Should i reuse those diodes?

I guess the question is whether should i add those diodes onto the new wiring. If i dont, what
would it cause?

Bike is 75 KZ400D

Thanks!

I wasn't aware that the KZ400 used diodes either. Got any pics?

Assuming there are diodes, their purpose would be very dependent upon where they're installed, so a single answer probably won't cover the original question. We'd need to take it on a case by case basis.

We'd probably need more info, but the KZ400 had a single indicator idiot light, so the diodes may be for that.

If you can trace the wires colours through a wiring schematic that will probably tell you why they are there.

Well what i thought were the diodes on the wiring diagram turned out to be just the wire junctions (2 wires into 1).
I didnt find any diodes on the harness. Case closed.
