I think I (He, actually...as I took the info from the ad) have it backwards on the cable driven part. It looks like the tach is cable driven and the speedo is electric?
I'm really tempted to try one of these on my next build. I've emailed a couple of sellers on ebay but let's just say that there's a little something lost in the translation.
I can get a wiring diagram, and I don't need the fuel gauge most of them come with.
I was wondering about running an oil pressure light. The bike I'm working on ('87 Radian) has an idiot light for oil pressure, so I know I can get a signal.
Taken from some of the listings:
" Please tell us your motor fuel indicator is suit for the oil sensor with 510Ohm (Honda ) or 110Ohm (Yamaha, Suzuki). "
I have the Nano on my CB750 and love it. It's small enough to not distract from the stripped down look of the bike, but the speedo display is big enough to read easily. Cant comment on the tach though, as I didn't hook it up.

It looks to me like the speedo (or something) is set up like a bicycle speedometer...magnet clamped on the rotating wheel or disc brake
and a sensor to count how many times it goes by. (under disc brake caliper in original image). This, of course, means you need to program your effective wheel diameter into the computer.
