An oldie but goodie air compressor

Therapy is expensive. Riding is cheap. You decide.
Got this old air compressor for the great price of FREE from one of my wife's work colleagues. We had house-sit for him and his wife for a few weeks and he's also a fellow rider (V-Strom 1000). So when he bought a new compressor, he called me up and asked if I wanted this one. He didn't even know if it worked, just that it was heavy. So I went over, we plugged her in, and voila! She ran like a champ! Nothing beats a working free piece of equipment. As you can see, she's pretty ugly and needs a new power cord and pressure switch, along with a hose and a paint job, but she's complete otherwise. Now I can use my air tools that have been gathering dust in my toolboxes at home!

Tag on the end of the tank has a stamp date of 1948, same year my dad was born. Motor looks quite a bit newer, but still looks to be in the 10-15 year old range. The cylinder looks to be all original as well.

Got around to removing the motor and air cylinder and cleaning up the tank. Lots of gunk and quite a bit of surface rust. Teardown of the cylinder and rewiring get the motor will be happening soon, as well as a fresh coat of paint.

Finally got some spare time during lunch and prettied up the cylinder.
