I just pruchased a 81 cb 750 in hopes of turning it into a cafe racer.

However yesterday it started leaking gas from the carbs.. lots

Is this difficult to change out or should i take it into a shop?

If its coming from the overdrain hose, it probabbly dirt caught in the float needles...

well, the or one float could be stuck-> making the bowl to overfill-- and in turn the valve lets it dump all over the damn engine... sounds like its dirty and needs to be cleaned. also make sure the petcock is turned off when not being ridden.

cheers :D

check float height and also check the o-rings on the valve and valve seat i had all kinda of problems with overflowing and it turned out to be all the o-rings were bad.

I had my guy take it into the shop...

Hopefully its nothing too bad. Its going in for carb rebuild and cleaning

fast way to get it done, but you will never learn ;)

True.. But i have the service manual and want to ride the bike sooner....

I'll be taking on some of the other aspects of this bike..

Carb kits are about $30/each...and you'll need 4. Plus a couple hours of labour. I had the same problem with my bike when I first got it....as I'm sure anyone has with a bike that's been sitting with gas in the bowls for a few years. No biggie.
