I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but for the my first platform it is coming along well. It started as a bobber and I was just unhappy with the route chosen for the bike. So, I slowly made the transition to a more... cafe style, as many have done. I recently purchased a donor xj750 which will be supplying a dual front disc conversion and rebuilt forks. A Ducati replica quarter fairing, from Glass from the Past, will also be incorporated as well as a home grown chin scoop.
Cheers,
-B.

Great transformation - lookin' good so far!
I had an '81 XJ650 Turbo. Loved that bike; front and top heavy, but when that turbo kicked in at about 3,500 rpms, look out! It got a lot of looks back in those days, too - looked pretty futuristic for its time. The hard core sportsbike guys didn't like 'em, but it could dust just about anything in a straight line. 8)

Oh yeah and the bike looks great! Love the way the tail section came out and the paint looks good

Thanks gents. The shocks can be had on eBay all day long. NTC's. I think I paid 135 shipped for mine; 13.3" eye to eye. They're plenty stiff without any preload and I prefer the travel. I am at the borderline of binding the driveshaft though so I may bring it down 1/2".

Well, A lot has changed since my last post, lol. Added an XJ750 dual disk front end and rebuilt the forks, dumped the clip on's for renthal ultra lows, dime city mirrors, rd250 seat(kept the cbr tail light, added a 50 cal ammo can and built the mounting rack, and also put on the 2-up pegs from the 750 as well. Oh, and that's a 2012 triumph scrambler headlight :) working on seat upholstery this week.
