I have to build a custom undertray for electrical relays, computer and such.
Got impatient and picked up 16 gauge steel. It was all they had. Tried bending with C and bar clamps. Really a no go. It's radius-ing instead of cleanly folding.
Going to find a local shop to cut and bend me something.
Either stainless or aluminum. Any thoughts on one over the other? Hoping to leave it raw and only need to give it a lil metal polish once a year.
Opinions also sought on bending vs pop riveted with angle aluminum...
Gotta pick a gauge too. Needs to be beefy enough to avoid dings from rocks/road debris. The 16 is definitely way overkill.
