Gearing

I want to make my 1975 cb550 accelerate faster as thinking a gear could help me out anyone know of gear options for the cb550 if there are any?

Let me ask... Is your bike running at it's optimum? Changing gearing can work, but it can also hide issues and cause flat spots through out the rev range and limit top end. Changing gears is a reasonable idea to get some performance, but useless if the bike is lacking elsewhere. Carb's are right? Timing correct? Valves set? Intake/exhaust balanced? 550"s weren't fast, they could be embarrassed by a decent RD350. Hell, back before my waist was larger than my inseam, I killed 550's on my 400/4. Good luck, I hope you get to your goal.

yes i cleaned up the motor inside and out and put new gaskets on everything and have everything set to factory specs, i was just wanting some more acceleration and i have heard people replacing gears on the 550 and it makes a ton of difference. thank you though
