Got the tank bracket made and on the backbone had to make a bolt up for that but done and done... running into some issues with left pipe, the left side has the brake to get passed so some compound slash and welds to wiggle it into position and not cut the tails is slowing me down.

Need to turn up and in here

If you look through you can see the other side nose and high as well as tucked in tight

Pipe worm. Should I leave the ratty welds or bud em off? It's gonna rust if I don't get it chromed but it's in place and hung need to straighten the brake lever a bit and shave the muffler bolt off... I like it

I retrofitted a steel and aluminum can onto a stainless pipe and polished it with a worn out flap wheel. It got pretty glossy and has stayed rust free from for over year. I'm sure it'll rust at some point, but it's much better than I would've thought. Curious if you can get similar results to make it worth not forking out for chrome.

I do have plenty of worn flap wheels so ill give it a go. Not sure if the chrome shop would add them in with a small project with all the shmeg inside.

Thanks!

definitely grind those booger welds off. do they have to be chrome? you could ceramic coat.

Hey now, I was going for that look ::)

After I button stitched it all tho I don't like it so yeah I will flap it off and tig up any holes then buff it all like Eric suggested. the pipes are not nice new repops and have a few dings but I do like that so no ceramic in the rads but maybe something just under the motor black maybe idk.

Bottom line, I want it to look like it was built in 1970's

Buffed our fairly good, really need a wheel and some mud to really make it shine but I'll try the chrome shop too.

Much better. You could polish it and use some high temp clear.

That's looking good now. BTW, I still think my welding looks worse than yours... :)
