Ive got a metal solvent tank with about 20 gallons of jet fuel (kerosene) in it. I think it would work much better if it had a little bit of heat on it, especially on the real cold days. I know kerosene is flammable, but not nearly as volatile as gasoline. Do you think strapping one of these block heaters on the outside of the solvent tank would be an issue as far as flammability is concerned?

No open spark. I don't see why it would be.

I have one of those and it would be fine to use when needed but they get damn hot to leave running all the time so a timer or turn it on an hour or two before you need to use it.

This is what you want: Just maybe from a farm supply to save cost.

that's what I was thinking. I know the kerosene wont possibly get it to the 300 to 400 degrees that the heater gets, but even if the kerosene gets up a little over 100degrees would be a huge help

HA, called the manufacturer and they said under no circumstances whatsoever should you ever run kerosene though these lol

Haha well I guess your insurance may not pay if you burn the house now that you are "an informed consumer" lol

right, I think ill stick with the magnetic tank warmer at this point lol

Think about how the pump it runs through now works... all you are doing is adding some heat, what is the combustion temp of Jet-A 563deg F so i'd say your hands would melt sooner than the Karo Syrup

Okay then, but I see no reason the mag heater would not work, the only time the juice is volatile is when it's vaporized and a flame added, otherwise it takes a flame to burn for the most part and the paint id the rattlecans is way more dangerous than that stuff.

Getting a mag heater from O Reilly auto parts. The didn't have any in stock, but will have one in tomorrow. I figured waiting an extra day was worth saving 15 bux over tsc
