Corrosion of carburetors

No quarter given, none taken.
Whats the best way of removing that white, powdery, corrosion from aluminium? Ive got 1 that's really bad, the floats/needle wont move.
Any help would greatly appreciated thanks.

A sonic cleaner with something like PineSol will do the trick, but if they're too far gone removing it won't help. All that powder was once your carb body.

Go to a uni-lab and ask them kindly, if they have a proper ultra-sonic cleaner. I did some carbs, which looked like those, when I studied Chemistry and we used to have some special solvents to clean corroded aluminium called Tickopur R22 (I think, you'd have to check the codes, there's one especially designed to remove corrosion (by-)products from machinery, but careful, it will actually dissolve the aluminium.) But you will be left with A LOT of pitting on the parts which are corroded.

vapor hone them mine would clean that off in a few minutes

where do you live?

If that's not an option, you could also try soda blasting them. Eastwood sell a cheap soda blast system that works with any compressor.
