Hey guys,

I'm fairly new to the site and have yet to share my bike with you all. I thought I'd finally get around to posting my build thus far and show everybody what I've been up to for the past 14 months. The following is a 1975 Honda CB550 F, which I purchased in May of 2013. I'm in the process of having the bike wired up and the carbs synced. I wasn't as thorough as I should've been when taking photos along the way, however I will share what I do have. This is my first build and I had zero previous experience building a bike myself. I'm lucky to have a step dad who's been a builder for some time, and he has given me a bit of guidance along the way. With that being said I have done most of the work myself, with the exception of paint, powder coating, and top end rebuild.

Shout out to Devin of Cognito Moto for the rear set brackets, and Ian Halcott of Twinline Motorcycles for the seat.

Some of the work done:

Frame

Sandblasted, detabbed, powder coated frame, swingarm & other various parts
Kott style splash guard & battery/electronics tray welded in
Triple tree grinded down

Suspension/Handling

Fork seals replaced
Front forks powder coated
New rear shock absorbers
All Balls steering stem kit
Swingarm needle bearings kit from DCC

Engine/Performance/Electronics

Fully rebuilt carbs
K&N style pods (probably replace with UNI)
Top end "refresh" including overbore & 600CC Piston kit
Top end gasket kit
Dynatek electronic ignition
Moto GPWerks 4-1 Exhaust
Antigravity 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
Rick Motorsports Reg/Rec

Wheels/Tyres

All Balls front & rear hub bearing kit
New front caliper, piston & o ring
Blasted & powder coated OEM wheels
New OEM Honda spoke sets
New shoes in the rear
Bridgestone Spitfire S11R Tyres

Other notable work is a custom seat by Ian Halcott at Twinline Motorcycles which was painted along with the 500T tank the previous owner already had on the bike. The seat has a recessed LED cat eye tail light built in and I couldn't be happier with it. Also a shout out to Devin @ Cognito Moto for the rear set brackets.

I'm sure I'm missing a few things but you guys get the idea, thanks for looking and check back for updates soon.

Cheers from Vancouver, B.C.

Ryan

1978 Wes Cooley Edition GS1000 w/various Suzuki parts. This bike took 4 years to build and has way too much to list. The theme is a WW2 Mitsubushi A6M Zero Jet Fighter plane which was Japan's premier jet fighter. The bike is painted Japanese Imperial Green and is a total garage build with the exception of the engine machining.
