Been Around the Block
I noticed you paid 20$ to have the cam chain split rather than spend the 60$ - I bot a bicycle chain breaker from Crappy Tire for under 5$ to push out a pin on my CB350 motor - worked dandy!

I later reassembled the chain and peaned the rivet over.

I don't have the confidence to rivet the new master link in place and then seal it for all eternity into the engine praying it doesn't come apart :)

The $60 was actually what the piston ring compressors would have run me (2 of them). I paid just over an hours labour to have the engine reassembled, including putting the master link on the cam chain. So for the extra bit of money ($20 or so) I got them to do it all.

Good thing I did too, as it bought me time and I read a bit more, finding out the Athena base gaskets are largely crap and slide out of place! So, we ordered up a proper Yamaha base gasket for $18 to put in.

So now the engine is in the back of my car, ready for the final bits to go on.
