That is AWESOME!!!
I had an uncle who was a navigator on a B-17 that went dowm in '43 over the Netherlands, and I spent a good chunk of March and April this year researching. Nose art is always intriguing, to say the least. Sadly, the plane my uncle died in was a replacement for them that day, but here's what was their usual "ride", Bastard's Bungalow II:

Kickeroo, you should really try and catch a flight in one of the '17s that tour the country each year. Sooner then later they won't be flying due to insurance or fuel or regulations. It might seem expensive, but it'd be a flight you'd never forget, especially with your family's history. I've volunteered as a loadmaster on Sentimental Journey and been up in her 14 times. It's an awesome experience.
