Dual Sport Tires for small wheels

Hi,

I have a 1982 CB125S with pretty small wheels on (17''X1.6'' in the rear and 18''X1.4'' in the front).

I'm looking for some nice dual sport tires for a tracker look on the bike. Every tire I seem to find won't fit my wheels..

Anybody as a suggestion for that king of tires?

Thanks

I've been looking for some more dual sporty tires for mine as well. Shinko makes some.

3.00 x 18" (front), and 3.00" x 17" (rear)

Thanks for your answer. I'm still a little confused though..

How do I know the tires will fit the rims? 1.4'' and 1.6'' rims are pretty narrow...

They specs you posted (3.00X18'' and 3.00X17''), 3.00'' is the width of the tire? I just need to make sure they clear the forks et frame in the rear?

1.4" and 1.6" are nominal sizes. They don't indicate the actual rim width. It's dumb, I don't know why Honda did it but they did.

Grab a measuring tape and measure the rims for yourself. You'll find the front is actually about 2.1" wide and the rear is actually about 2.3" wide (reference: http://www.dontai.com/cb125s.htm, see the section about tires).

3.00" is the nominal tire width. Again, nominal doesn't mean actual width. Here's a good write of tire sizes explained: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle-tires-101-guide

Also, in the manual it calls for a 2.75" x 18" tire for the front and a 3.00" x 17" tire for the rear. Here's a screenshot I took of the CB125S shop manual (there's a copy of it floating around on DTT somewhere ;) ): http://i.imgur.com/RE7AIXh.png

As much as I hate Motorcycle Superstore, they have the SR241 in a 2.75" x 18", and a 3.00" x 17":

They also have the 244 in a 3.00" x 18" front and a 3.00" x 17" rear:

If you're worried about clearances, ask yourself if there's an extra 1/4" for the tire to occupy between the forks.

Those aren't "Nominal sizes....Those arent Honda sizes, rather industry standard sizes. The wm1 1.60 width rim is 1.6 inches between the beads. Actual width, not nominal. Here's some charts:

You can get wider rims, but check for clearance, and relace them to your existing hub, using the stock spokes, if you are only going up one size or so.
