This way of posting places the posts neatly across the pages and keeps the pages the same size. If you do really long posts, then you end up having to scroll down the page forever to get through them. Each page is a number of posts, not like a book where it's the number of characters and spaces. It also makes loading the page take longer. For someone (or him) wanting to quickly flip through his thread to look something up, it would be a nightmare. What he's doing is the neatest, most efficient way to build a thread.
