1977 BMW R100/7 Sarcoplasmic Cow Hellride

You've been mostly-dead all day.
DTT BOTM WINNER
I traded for this R100 back in May. I had the notion to put it in storage and push to get my GL on the road. After a bit of introspection, I decided to flip the projects. The Beemer is a running bike that really won't take much to put it on the road- mostly peripheries. So, I figure it's about time to over complicate the situation, tear it apart and turn it into a custom bike. How custom it becomes remains to be seen, but here we go...

Appreciate it. I have something else in the works, though. ;)

A more finalized front fork. With the initial mock up, I had 35mm of extra stem to figure out. So I swapped stems. The BMW stem required machining and sleeving, plus interior threading in the top to make it all work. I think the GSXR swap is easier, but I really want the longer legs.

Looks cool.... much cooler than an xt250 ;)

Re: 1977 BMW R100/7 Miles Von Muncher Hellride

Much cooler than an XT. Ha!

Here's a pic of the complete stem. A total Frankenstein of the two machines...

Those pipes are an awkward length. They look like they should be about a foot shorter. Or, depending on what you're going for here, a foot longer might be cool, too.

Yeah, stock pipes. I haven't gotten that far yet. ;)

Trimmed this much off the stock rear fender...

I'm going back and forth with the seat. I have a couple of friends with Beemers that have offered up ones they have. I'm leaning that direction.
