KDX 200 Project thing

So yes they look too long. I'm balling on a budget so I can't just up and spring on new forks if these may work..

what frame is that? really hard to tell. if it's a kdx200, dt125 or 175 forks and triple are a drop in and would be better suited imo. should easily be able to sell the ktm parts and buy a dt front end and still have some cash left over

It's a kdx200.
I'm going to stick with the stocker front end for the time being, and lower the forks internally I'm thinking.
I got the front end for free basically, so I may as well make it work.

Work your way around. You should be able to lower the forks internally, that should help. If not add some sliding down the triples too

yeah, I'm going to get the machine work done, then figure out bearings and if I'll have to machine out the triple tree shaft at all, and then from there I'll mock it up and see how much I'll have to take out internally.

Not a lot of updates on the project, though I had a small exciting update and a couple questions.
A little further back in my thread I posted that I picked up a KTM parts lot for 100 bucks. Well, I sold off enough parts to gain back my original investment and then some, and now I have a guy interested in potentially trading a non running KDX200 for the lot+ 125 bucks. Now needless to say I could easily make probably 700 or so bucks selling off this parts lot, but that could take months or even a year to sell it all, and it is taking up space in my car. SO. I am planning on doing the trade because essentially really I am getting the bike for the 125. It is said to have a new gasket kit, as well as a new crank installed, and "ran when parked last year, now I can't get it to start" yada yada yada, we've all heard the song and dance.
All it needs is a gas cap, and a drive shaft seal. How hard, and how deep do I have to dig into the motor to replace that?
The trade is supposed to go down sunday which in craigslist time is years, and anything could change between now and then as most things do, but hopefully not as I feel I am getting the better end of the deal.
The bike has no title, though I am going to do my best to try and get it street legal, as I have been eye balling super moto's for quite some time now, and would be fun to have it sumo'd out. We will see though.

Well.. This happened. For 750 I snagged this old school rd350 race bike that apparently used to get raced on back in the day. Not presently running but has over sized carbs, rd pipes, rear sets, and from what I'm guessing internal work as well (big bore etc).. Then I got the sticker which is nearly complete as well and a spare motor. I plan to just turn this around and flip them, as I don't have time for another project though the race bike is extremely tempting to add to the collection...

Yeah, I mean DG I shouldn't of posted while driving!
And yeah their sun rims.
It has a xs650 hub in the rear as well for bigger brakes.

You got a sweet deal, nice bits, I'd keep that racer for sure.

I'd love to keep it except that it's title less and I don't see myself taking it out to the track much.
Their both on Craigslist and I've already gotten a few calls, if I can get the motor and stock rd350 sold I'll probably take that cash and put it towards a titled frame though, because it would be a pretty sweet racer redone and cleaned up.

neither are titled?
Unfortunately not, I wish.
The stock one may be possible to track down the title, but on the race bike one I would assume that's a long shot.
Chances are they'll just get sold, I don't feel like pursuing them as personal bikes for myself.

I also sell a lot on eBay, so if I need to part out to make my money back I can take that route as well.

So you simply are teasing us with "projects" you happen to find, but always resort to sell and never commit to

What can I say, I'm a tease. Ha.

If it was up to me, I'd keep these. I'm going to do my best to keep the racer. But a higher power (my dad) is on my back for college tuition money, so at this point it's mostly been flipping bikes instead of keeping them sadly.

I mean, I don't want to be rude or anything but then, why are you posting new bikes you get, but know deep inside you, you won't be keeping and are willing to sell immediately (and even state you will too).

I will speak for myself, but I think people here will think this way too, I was hoping you made something cool out of the KDX. It couldn't be. Good, that's your call. But then again, why post you got some RD's you won't be working on?

I think this is a motorcycle forum specializing in builds, and helping out each other. Not to post your money making skills with through CL and eBay, with bikes.

I'll keep this strictly KDX related from now on, that's my mistake. I was updating the forum noting my day to day stuff bike related in general, that's my fault.
From now on it'll pertain strictly to KDX.

It's your thread... you can do whatever the fuck you want as long as you don't post porn. I personally like the buy and flip deals it supports builds and beer.

You should offer the bikes here also tho, that is just respect.
